At VPS Lok Kalyan Trust, we recognize the cow not only as a sacred symbol of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage but also as a vital part of our agrarian ecosystem. Our Gau Raksha initiative is dedicated to the protection, care, and welfare of cows, ensuring their safety, health, and dignity.
Through our sustained efforts, we aim to promote compassion towards animals, preserve indigenous breeds, and encourage sustainable rural livelihoods centered around ethical and eco-friendly practices.
Our Objectives
To rescue, shelter, and provide lifelong care for abandoned, injured, and stray cows.
To promote awareness about the cultural, agricultural, and ecological importance of cows.
To support gaushalas (cow shelters) with resources for feed, healthcare, and infrastructure.
To encourage the use of cow-based products (like organic fertilizers and biogas) as sustainable alternatives that benefit both farmers and the environment.
Key Initiatives
Rescue and Rehabilitation
Our volunteers actively work with local authorities and communities to rescue stray, neglected, and injured cows from roads and unsafe conditions. Rescued animals are provided with shelter, medical care, and nourishment in dedicated gaushalas.Cow Shelter Management (Gaushalas)
VPS Lok Kalyan Trust manages and supports gaushalas equipped with veterinary care, feeding facilities, and safe environments for cows to live comfortably and healthily.Veterinary Health Camps
Regular medical camps are organized for vaccination, treatment, and health check-ups of cows to ensure their well-being and prevent disease outbreaks.Promotion of Cow-Based Livelihoods
We train and support rural communities in utilizing cow dung and urine for organic farming, composting, and biogas production — promoting sustainable income sources and reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers.Awareness and Advocacy
